“Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you” – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Being granted the opportunity to hold the title of 2025 Watertown Area Sr. Snow Queen and 2025 South Dakota Snow Queen means more than just the crown and gown. Snow Queen has given me many incredible leadership opportunities. Being able to be a role model for my community and my State has grown me as a person.

4 years ago I was crowned the 2022 Jr. Watertown Area Snow Queen. That title has changed my life. Throughout being in Snow Queen I have grown not only as a person but also I was able to get more active in my community. Through community support and determination I was crowned the 2025 South Dakota Snow Queen. The unwavering support Snow Queen has given me is amazing. Not only I have grown as a person but I also have been able to make ever lasting friendships with other young women in my community and state.

I have been able to grow my confidence and join clubs and groups. Throughout the years Snow Queen has taught me public speaking skills, leadership abilities, and how to walk in a formal gown and heels. I will never forget how Snow Queen has formed me as an active member of my community. Thank you for granting the opportunity for me to represent Watertown Area as your 2025 Sr Snow Queen.

Jr. Miss Watertown Area was truly one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It wasn’t just a title and wearing a pretty dress—it was a journey that helped me grow into a stronger, more confident, and more compassionate person. Through the experience, I learned what it means to lead with kindness, to represent something bigger than myself, and to inspire others just by being genuine and dedicated.

Every moment—from the preparation to the events, the friendships, and the community involvement—taught me lessons about hard work, gratitude, and grace. I loved everything about it: the excitement, the teamwork, the memories, and the sense of pride that came with being part of something so special.

Being Snow Queen shaped me into a better version of myself, and I carry those lessons with me every day. I would recommend the experience to absolutely everyone—it’s not just about winning or wearing a crown, it’s about finding yourself, connecting with others, and realizing the impact you can make when you believe in what you’re doing.

Snow Princess

2025 Haylie Hansen

My name is Haylie Hansen, and I am the current Watertown Snow Princess. Being the Watertown Snow Princess has made me fulfill a lot of duties that have made me become a better, stronger, kinder, compassionate and more patient woman. It has also meant a lot to me because it has made me be able to learn how to make a commitment and time management with all my other extra-curricular activities.

Some of the best and my personal favorite times in Snow Queen are when we would work with the younger kids. My favorite event that we have ever gone to is Breakfast with Santa at the Zoo. It was so heartwarming to see all those kids who want to take pictures with us and see them smile. It was also a great experience when we did a meal at Thanksgiving time at the Shelter. It was very nice to see them enjoy the food we made for them. Overall, I want every girl to eventually go through this wonderful experience in Snow Queen.

Snow Queen has meant alot to me! It has also taught me alot too! one of them is leadership. Snow Queen taught me how to be a leader and I love that! I am now a better leader. Another is kindness. Kindness is something that makes everyone feel loved and belong.

Some of my favorite memories in Snow Queen have been Cooking on Kampeska and Girl Power! Kids had so mch fun when they saw us at Cooking on Kampeska becuase we had so many fun activities and I loved seeing the smiles on their faces! Girl power was another one because the girls has so much fun learning how to be healthy and true to themselves.
